Is transgenderism truly a perversion of God's will & creation? (Gen 1)

Many of my cis-brothers & sisters in Christ are not too fond of the LGBT community (and in some cases that's putting it very lightly), especially trans people. There are many verses cisgendered Christians use to attack transgenderism. One of the biggest ones being Genesis 1:27 (CSB): So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female. Seems clear cut doesn't it? You are male or female, made in the image if God. By being born as whatever sex you are born as, you bear God's image and by changing gender (and possibly even your sex) you are removing God's image and removing yourself from God's will. You don't mess with nature and how God made you. Not only that, but God made two genders, and since you're born as one or the other you need to conform. This is the argument being made by cisgender Christians. There are two reasons this is wrong: This assumes everything is a binary, it's black an

Another trans person killed for being trans

This wasn't what I was planning to post (that will likely go up Thursday), but I couldn't let this go. This is one of the reasons why I created this blog, in hopes that straight people come to understand a trans person's perspective to reduce the unjust hatred towards us so that we aren't being targeted for violence anymore. It's despicable what has happened. We're being killed for something we have no control over. Anyway, here's the link to the news article: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/transgender-woman-brutally-attacked-on-video-last-month-fatally-shot-in-dallas/ar-AABBMH7?ocid=mmx&PC=EMMX20

Ramblings on the church and other believers

First, before I get to the actual topic, I will not be posting this frequently starting tomorrow, I just wanted to give you all a bit of variety to give you all an idea of what this blog will be like. I'll probably post 1-3 times a week. I have a post coming tomorrow or Tuesday (possibly Wendsday, we'll see). Anyway, to the main topic: As a transgender Christian, I have a bit of a unique view on the church most Christians who regularly attend church do not have. That is, I'm an outsider who has infiltrated the base. What do I mean by that? What I mean is that even though I regularly attend church and am quite involved with the church, I am still an outsider, despite being a regularly attending Christian. When you're hiding your dysphoria from everyone, it's hard to relate to the others as there is that big elephant weighing you down. In addition, it is likely that they are not too friendly to LGBT people (as is the case in every church I've attended). This kee

What Matters More

Image
As an LGBT Christian, the song "What Matters More" by Derek Webb really helped me a lot. It made me realize not every Christian is judgemental and hateful towards the LGBT community and was willing to call out other straight Christians out on how overly focused they are on putting us back in the closet. Anyway, just wanted to share this song that helped change my views on my spiritual family.

Obligatory Introductory Post

Hi, I'm Nicole, a male to female transgender (mtf) who is also sexually fluid (goes between asexuality and bisexuality) and Christian and this is my obligatory introductory post to my new blog. So, I started this blog for several reasons: 1) to find others like me, so I don't feel so alone in this world 2) to help straight/cisgender people (especially my straight brothers & sisters in Christ) understand where I and other LGBT people are from 3) and the main reason is honestly so I have an outlet for all the shit I deal with and think about 4) to hopefully provide help, healing and encouragement to the rest of the LGBT community, especially to those that are Christian So, what will I actually write about? Whatever is on my mind, which usually is something to do with being trans. I do expect to write about other things though, especially about my faith and video games (I'm a little addicted to gaming). The main focus though will be sharing my experiences and views
